Bush Staying in Iraq

Or his troops are anyway. According to a BBC article, Bush has again said that withdrawing would be a “huge mistake.” And he’s absolutely right. The last thing we want is a liberated Iraq.

At least 40,592 civilians have been killed in Iraq, according to Iraq Body Count, and this is the number of media verifies deaths. More likely estimates are above 100,000. Pulling out now would only stop US troops from killing innocent civilians and cause the countless foreign militants who came to fight the US to return to their home countries. We certainly don’t want that.

Pulling out of Iraq would create a safe haven for terrorists, not to mention a safe home for innocent Iraqi civilians who would otherwise be pulled out of their homes in the middle of the night and locked up without charges.

Our president also decided that Iraqis want a “unified country.” This decision by Mr Bush will cretainly change the minds of the Sunnis and Shi’ites who didn’t like each other before.

President Bush, who went into Iraq without a plan for coming out, certainly has improved his knowlede of the region.
