Missing Weapons in Iraq

A number of weapons have gone missing in Iraq, according to the New York Times. Among these weapons are almost 100 MP-5 machine guns, 751 M1-F assault rifles, and about 13,000 semiautomatic pistols.

It remains unknown if any of the missing weapons have been used by insurgents.

    Well, in Vietnam there were times that American units captured weapons and manuals from the Viet Cong…that the American units hadn’t been issued yet! Insurgents have the ultimate interior lines and can upgrade and re-equip and re-train with lighting speed compared to a conventional army. So yes, pretty good bet Iraqi insurgents have gotten their hands on at least some US weapons, even if it hasn’t made the news.
