Iraq Attacks at All-Time High

The Herald Sun says that there were more attacks in Iraq in the last three months of 2006 than in any other such period since 2003, according to a quarterly Pentagon report (Stability and Security in Iraq) to Congress. It says that “although most attacks continue to be directed against coalition forces, Iraqi civilians suffer the vast majority of the casualties.” Baghdad alone had an average of 45 attacks every day for the three months.

The number of casualties during this period were also a record high since 2003.
